What the heck does Eeks mean by fart walks for better health?
Did we just go back to grade school? (No…but I couldn’t help but flood the introduction to this podcast with a million fart puns. Sorry….not sorry. ;))
In a recent episode of Causes or Cures, I had an informative, fun and funny conversation with gastroenterologist Dr. David Clarke about the viral wellness trend of fart walks. He, an avid fart walker himself, describes the health benefits of fart walking, particularly how it can help with digestion, heart burn, bloating, and possibly even Type 2 Diabetes. He offers tips on how to optimize fart walking for your intestines and overall wellness.
Personally, I think “fart walks for better health” should be the next dating trend. Alcohol is a toxin and carcinogen, so “meeting for drinks” is in desperate need of a healthy upgrade. Plus, if you can fart with your partner…well that’s the stuff that seals the deal for the long-term. You know I’m right! ;)
By the way, Dr. Clarke is a repeat guest on Causes or Cures, having appeared on Episode 164 where he discusses the hidden causes of chronic pain. He is the President of the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association (PPDA), a nonprofit dedicated to ending the chronic pain epidemic. He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His organization’s mission is to advance the awareness, diagnosis, and treatment of stress-related, brain-generated medical conditions. You can learn more about him at EndChronicPain.org. Definitely listen to his episode on chronic pain after you listen to the fart walks for health one. It’s really, really good…eye-opening…and one of my more popular episodes according to the downloads/shares data on my podcast hosting platform.

Speaking of the GI tract… if you missed the episode on the Omentum, definitely listen to it. You can learn more about it here: What the heck is the Omentum and why should I care about it?
